Vocal Instruction
The Laurel School of Music has a very robust vocal instruction program headed by Dr. Rebecca Ocampo. Dr. Ocampo is a professional Opera Singer who is also on staff in the Music Department of George Washington University in the District of Columbia. Dr. Ocampo has performed dozens of times in productions with the Washington Opera and Baltimore Opera companies in many of the finest venues in Washington and Baltimore, as well as other cities around the country.
Dr. Ocampo is one the School's most popular instructors. Often, there is a waiting list for her available lesson slots. There is a very good reason for her popularity. Dr. Ocampo is extremely effective in developing the vocal skills and the performance abilities of all her students. She has shephereded many of her students through dozens of auditions for musicals and collegiate level music programs. The tremendous percentage of her students who are cast in area school and theater productions is a testiment to Dr. Ocampo's prodigious ability to train vocals students of all ages.
The Laurel School of Music also has on staff Ms. Lillibeth Lee, who instructs vocal students in developing their vocal skills, performance abilities, and audition performance. Ms. Lee has over 15 years experience of vocal instruction and is the Choral Director of the Filipino Capitol SDA Church's adult and ghildren's choirs, as well as Director of several Vocal Ensembles. Ms. Lee is a wonderful instructor of the young voice looking for formal and effective music and vocal training.
Ms. Lee is also one of our most popular piano instructors and has been teaching with our School for 5 years.
