Drum Lessons
|
The Laurel School of Music offers private drum and drum set lessons. Lessons are one-half hour each week
and include music reading, concert and rudimental technique, and coordination
and improvisation in jazz and rock styles. Students are accepted beginning at
any age in which the student has the ability and desire to learn and play drums.
It is recommended that parents who desire instruction for young children consult
the Director before instruction begins. Instruction includes students from beginner
on up. Lessons are custom-tailored to meet each individual student's area of interest.
The drum studio at the School has two full drum sets. This allows the instructor
to play on one set while the student learns on the other. There is no time wasted
"switching" places and the student learns on real live acoustic drums (not just
drum pads).
Drum students have the opportunity to join a Laurel School of Music Rock/Pop band. This program provides instruction to a group of students that
make up a Rock/Pop band. The instructors guide the group in chossing, perfecting,
and eventually perofrming Rock/Pop Music. Please contact the School by e-mail
or contact the Director for the availablility of these programs.
