The Laurel School of Music offers a varied program aimed at providing the opportunity to experience the rewards of music. We believe that anyone can play and enjoy a musical instrument, given the proper exposure and instruction. Our programs are geared towards children and adults in the Laurel area and surrounding areas, including Howard County, Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County, and Montgomery County. Adults are accepted for private piano, guitar, band instruments, violin, drum, clarinet, saxophone and voice lessons. The Music Programs seek to introduce students and promote growth and advancement in the basic concepts of music and performance. Among the school's programs are:

Private Piano lessons for children and adults

Group Piano classes for students ages 5 to 18

Introduction to Piano and Music classes for children 3 years of age and older.

Summer Concert Band Camps (registration starts February 21, 2005)

Summer Orchestra Camps (registration starts February 21, 2005)

Private Guitar lessons for children and adults

Group Guitar classes for teens and adults

Private Voice lessons

CONCERT SERIES - The Laurel School of Music is proud to announce their Community Concert Series - FREE TO THE PUBLIC - a monthly series of performances by superbly talented local and regional musicians as a service to bring wonderful music to Main Street Laurel. Check the Laurel Leader and other local newspapers as well as this WebSite for announcements and notices.

Our programs are intended to integrate with local public and private school music programs. As such, the Laurel School of Music can provide the foundation for beginner students who wish to later enroll in their school programs, and it can provide additional training and performance opportunities for the more experienced students.

The Laurel School of Music seeks to instill a community-oriented spirit in its students. As part of this community involvement, the Laurel School of Music has held musical performances in a variety of settings (from shopping malls to area nursing homes), and it coordinates its concert band, summer band and orchestra camp schedules with local community events such as the Main Street Festival and the Laurel Fourth of July celebration.
